On the 6th of January 2022, the State Administrative Council (SAC) issued SAC Law No. 1/2022 or otherwise known as the “Law Amending the Union Tax Law 2021” to amend Subsection (e) of Section 14 of the Union Tax Law 2021, among others to:

a. Raise the commercial taxes on Internet services from five percent (5%) to fifteen percent (15%).

b. Impose commercial taxes for the sale and activation of SIM cards valued at 20,000 Kyats.

The new amendments to the law were made effective from January 8 to March 31, 2022.

To comply with this new amendments, our Company has implemented the necessary adjustments in our billings and product prices, effective from January 8, 2022.
